I am now in the process of mixing-down my first solo project, "Lonekrusader Vol. I: Where is Thy Sting?" We expect to finish mix-down on January 22, and duplication will begin by the end of the month. This project will feature the brand-new song "Goodbye" and a remix of "Faded Footprints", from the now out-of-print "Precious Songs of the Spirit, vol. 2" originally released on IAM RECORDS. "April Rain", which has previously been available only on cassette, will be included on the project. Also included will be two of my original poems that were never intended to be set to music and, for those who like to sing along, the soundtracks for both "Faded Footprints" and "Goodbye". There are a total of 10 separate tracks, dealing with the issue of death and grief. Guest musicians on this project include the country gospel group The Marvin & Deana Clark Family, the southern gospel trio New Purpose, and the Christian rock band Krusade. This month, I am competing in the First Annual OHIO VALLEY IDOL Competition at the Holiday Inn in Marietta, OH. I plan to perform some of the following selections: "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx, "I Do it For You" by Bryan Adams, "Every Breath You Take" by the Police, "I'm Already There" by Lonestar, and / or "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi. The first elimination round begins Friday night February 3, 2006 at 8:00 pm. Feel free to stop by and participate in the competition, or just to enjoy the show. Those of you who know me well know that I have long had more than a fleeting interest in politics and religion. Not surprisingly, I am now delving into a new branch of the literary world and have begun writing my first book, which I have tentatively-titled Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Godliness. This book will be a work of non-fiction and will cover timeless political issues from a Christian perspective. With this book, I intend to explain how our country's founding documents (namely, the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence) prove that America was always intended to be a Christian Nation, and to demonstrate what we must do to protect this "Nation under God" from the spiritual forces that are even now working to destroy it. References will be cited from historical documents, as well as the latest national headlines. Selections from the book (but not the entire book) will be posted on this website as the writing progresses. This project is being completed independently and is being funded solely by donations. I have been awarded an Outstanding Achievement in Poetry Award by the International Society of Poets, for my poem "Walk Away". Click here to view the award.
